I'm Kenn Wildes and pianos are my passion!
Kenn tunes from the concert stage to the rich and famous of Medina, to the stuggling families or students who he discounts half price at times, to the donated tunings for school fundraisers.
He tunes from the concert grand down to the lowly spinet or old upright, even square grands and birdcage pianos. He tunes for people, not pianos. He is happiest when the people he tunes for are able to be happy with their piano.
Kenn Wildes has played piano since 1967, mostly classical with a strong ragtime interest. He has returned to piano lessons the last couple years, studying Chopin Etudes with George Fiore. In 1986 Kenn began his career as piano technician in Boulder, Colorado, continuing in Nairobi, Kenya in 1991, and coming to the Seattle area in 1996. Kenn is a Registered Member of the Piano Technicians Guild since 1988.

In 1991 Kenn's love of long distance running and an Olympic dream took him to pursue long distance running with the Kenyan runners. His wish to continue working with pianos was realized, as his technical and restoration skills were sorely needed in Kenya. He ended up training several technicians there, leaving behind what became 5 individual businesses in Kenya, including the continuation of the business he started himself, Piano Kenya, which restores and sells pianos. Kenn also started a singing career in Kenya, singing in many Kenyan languages and becoming known as "Kenn Njoroge". Kenn's daughter is half Kenyan, her mother coming from the Baringo area. Among the many he thanks for his time in Kenya, are Patrick Muturi, Nelson Ndegwa, Mwithiga 'Warm Up', Joseph Kahugu, Kafel Maina.

Kenn returned to USA in 1996 and started Wildes Pianos, in which he continues to tune and restore pianos, with occasional sales of restored and reconditioned pianos. Among others, Kenn thanks Angel Orozco, Jack Cashion, Curtis Spiel, Leng Tshua, Dean Petrich, Doug Wood, Jeannie Grassi for introducing him to the Seattle piano world, and their subsequent support.
